Comments about Vintage Kitchen Blue:

This cute little kitchen seems to be perfect for a toddler so far.
It's a good size for a NYC apt. - not too big as I had feared.
The color is nice.
Nice amount of storage for kitchen toys.
The knobs click, which is nice.
There are no electronic components.
I think that it is a great feature that Kidkraft has colored the heads of the main screws to match the unit! It makes it look very finished and nice.

It wasn't too difficult to put together but it helped to have an extra set of hands. With two of us working on it, it took us about 2 hours and 15 minutes. We were careful and took time to make sure we accounted for all the parts before we started, etc.
The feet are VERY hard to get on - basically, you just have to trust and use a LOT of force to get them to screw on. The plastic parts are harder to screw in than any of the wooden parts.
All the holes seem to line up.
Remember that the directions are meant to represent 3 dimensional space and it will help you understand where the hardware goes.
The surface seems to scratch a bit easily - resulting in little silver lines which are not too visible - but be careful when you are assembling it to not scratch it.

This is a purely cosmetic assembly note:
Although the hardware comes with two extra screw/nut pieces - the extra ones are not painted the color of the unit like the others. So, if you have a problem with one of the screws (as we did) be sure to use one of the extras in a place where the head of the screw won't show, rather than keeping the spare to use at the end where it will be visible. (the top is assembled last)

One interesting item:
The one door handle (on the oven) seems misplaced in terms of the way the door opens - my three year old has a tiny bit of difficulty opening the door as it opens sideways, like a kitchen cabinet, rather than down, like an oven door. (The way the oven door opens is an improvement on other models I have seen - as when the oven doors open downward the kids end up stepping on them to get things in and out - and subsequently breaking them.) But the handle is placed like a real oven handle - in the middle - rather than on the side, which makes the tork necessary to open the door a little hard to achieve. But this is very minor - and I realize that they wanted to make the door look more like an oven door, by putting the handle in the middle. So I think that they made the right design decision on this one.

We shall see how it holds up! I hope for many years of play.

Comments about Vintage Kitchen Blue:

My two year old daughter loves this kitchen. It looks great and is well made. It does however take about 2 hours to assemble.
