        Comments about Cutting Fruit Crate:

Great gift for my 2 and 3 year olds. My son's occupational therapist was using this one day with him so I decided to get it for my kids for Easter. It's fun for them and it helps with eye/hand coordination. My 7 year old will play with it too. I highly recommend! Only thing is that I wish Melissa and Doug products came with lids for their storage cases.

              Comments about Cutting Fruit Crate:

My 17-month-old daughter is entering the imaginative play zone, so I'm starting to seek out toys that allow her to mimic Mama & Daddy as well as play in her own little world.I like Melissa & Doug products, particularly because they are the best priced wooden toys on the market (good quality, too). This product seemed like a natural choice given that we are building a play kitchen set at the moment. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the product. It comes with a nice variety of fruit, a cute wooden knife, it's nice to cut the fruit open then put it back together to do over and over again, and the storage crate is adorable. However, a couple minor drawbacks: The melon and banana pieces fit together awkwardly and always look like they're going to fall apart, and the velcro isn't as strong as it needs to be. Also, the kiwi looks nothing like a kiwi.Overall, pleased with the product - I think it's worth what we paid ([$] with discounts) but I wouldn't buy it again at full price.

                Comments about Cutting Fruit Crate:

My 14 month old daughter really enjoys this toy. The fruit makes a bit of a snapping noise when you cut them open with the wooden knife, which is exciting for her. The only thing I'd say that could have been improved upon is the velcro that holds the pieces together. It's standard fuzzy velcro, not the newer kind which holds stronger. I can see that after a few months or a year of using this that the velcro wouldn't hold up and the pieces wouldn't stick together well anymore. Who knows- maybe she won't be interested anymore after that long anyway!
