      Do NOT Buy ANY Kidcraft

I loved this kitchen for my little girls, and it was a very sentimental purchase for me to buy it for them. A couple of days ago, though, the oven door fell off. The particle board around the connecting joint just cracked and broke. I contacted the company to see if I could PURCHASE a replacement oven door (wasn't looking for a freebie), and got this response:

"We carry a very limited amount of replacement parts and these must be reserved for initial defects or damage in transit for in warranty consumers.

You may want to consult a hardware store for repairs."

I think this is pretty unbelievable, especially for a company that manufacturers TOYS that will inevitably go through a lot of wear and tear from kids. Now my sentimental purchase is reduced to junk and there's nothing I can do about it other than do some kind cheap patch up job (super glue maybe? I don't even know).

Comments about Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen:

We have had this kitchen set for almost two years and it been heavily used (and abused :) by our two small children. The set looks good but it is also very sturdy. Our kids love cooking and we have a some sort of party with cakes and food almost every night. We strongly recommend it. It was well worth the investment for us.

Comments about Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen:

Bought this for our daughter's 2nd birthday. It's very cute and nicer quality than we expected. Took my husband and I about two hours or so to assemble. This site had the best price with free shipping that I found. I really wanted this one, so I checked everywhere else first. This kitchen is taller than most, so I think our daughter will enjoy it longer as she grows. The box it came in was pretty abused during shipping. A lot of the tape was coming apart and the box was just worn. When we opened, the spatula was broken, one knob on the dishwasher was cracked, creating sharp edges, and there was one piece of the flat stove top surface that has a piece of the corner broken off, about a two inch piece. Luckily, it is in the back behind the wall, so it will never be seen anyway. I haven't called yet, but I am sure they will send me the other pieces to replace. Overall, for the money and quality, we are extremely pleased. However, I wish we had been able to buy locally, and avoid the shipping mishaps.

Comments about Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen:

I ordered this several years ago. My girls still play with it once a week. Fits the Melissa and Doug food sets. They bake pizza and cookies in the oven. Lots of storage for our vast collection. Which is nice too. I assembled myself took about a week or 3 hours if you do it in one go. If there are pieces damaged or missing order at kidkrafts web site. They are free and ship fast, it is very heavy and best to assemble in the place it will stay. Typical of flat pack furniture. Phone is lame but all other pieces are great. Burners click when you turn the dial.

This kitchen is fabulous! Great service from Diapers.com, came quickly and undamaged. It took 2 adults approx 1 1/2 hrs to assemble. The colors are great, and the quality seems great as well, as other kid craft items I have are. I'm sure my kids will be shocked come Christmas morning, and I'm looking forward to years of fun with this buy.
