Haba Pirate's Treasure Play Tent
Conquer the seven seas and stave off those ghastly pirates in this pirate's treasure tent. It completely collapses for storage into a zipper carry case.
It all began in 1939 in Bad Rodach, Germany, with finely polished, colorful wooden toys, that were "finely sanded and polished wonderfully smooth, just right for tender children's hands," as the first catalogue emphasized. Today these blocks are still part of our product palate. But the factory for fine wooden toys has been transformed into "the producer of inventive playthings for inquisitive minds."
All products in the HABA range have one thing in common: our attention to detail makes each item special and unique. HABA wants to playfully support children's development, make their lives happier, more exciting, and full of the delight of discovery: to put it simply, to make their world a little more child-friendly.
A wide variety of HABA toys and games have been honored with awards for exceptional design. Since 1993, no fewer than six HABA games received the "Children's game of the Year" award.

Comments about Pirate's Treasure Play Tent:
The Haba tent is adorable. It has a cute pirate theme with flag on top, 2 round "port holes" with removable covers, one large mesh window with rollable cover, and a doorway that can be pulled back with tabs or closed. Santa delivered a pirate costume and telescope (not included) that added to the fun for our 3 year-old.
It is a high quality made tent, not nylon as the previous reviewer mentioned. The description on the haba web site is: "The tent can be folded down completely. Made of cotton/polyester, mesh fabric, plastic rods. Dimensions: Ø 120 cm, H 125 cm."
It is nice sized and easily fits 3 small children and a cat. My son, an average sized 3 year-old, stands in it without hitting the top.
Humorously, our cat has taken over the tent, jumping thought the port holes and sleeping in it. He leaps out and grabs unsuspecting feet as they pass by him.
We have had many play tents over the years and this one is our favorite.
Since this product's description has virtually no information, here are some things you should know. First, based on the photo (and price) I expected this tent to be made out of fabric. I received it last week and am saving it for xmas but opened it yesterday while my son was napping to make sure it looked okay. When I opened it I was disappointed to see the tent is made of nylon, with the exception of a few pieces like the flag on top that is a softer fabric. For this price, I expected a higher quality fabric (even cotton/poly), although I realize that a heavier fabric would make it harder to move around. The tent unfolds to be about 4 ft. diameter at the base and about 4 ft high. There is some assembly required, you need to insert (5) metal rods to keep the tent standing...but no worries this only took me about 10 minutes and now that I know how to do it will probably only take 2-3 mins the next time. There was an extra rod that I couldn't figure out what it was for...but the tent was working fine without it.
The problem is folding the tent back down to fit into the carry case. The instructions are only pictorial and barely helpful, so it's basically up to the user to figure out how to get the spring rings to collapse back down. After about 45 mins of struggling with it I finally did it...just start with the base ring (the larger one), stand it up on its end and grab the sides and fold them down onto themselves until it all folds into a small ring. Then while that one is folded, do the same for the top ring (the smaller one). The whole thing should be able to fit into the carry case. I'm sorry I don't know how to describe it any better, I tried it so many times eventually it just happened and I'm not sure how!
So, all this being said, the tent is very cute and has nice little designs all around. The entry curtains either velcro closed or can be tied open. There is a mesh panel on the back side that has an overlay which can be tied up or velcro closed. There are also two open "portholes" on the sides and two round pieces which can velcro over the holes (one complaint about these...I wish the softer velcro was on the round pieces so that if he wants to play with them separately they won't stick to the carpet...but they have the loop side of the velcro which clings right to the carpet).
All in all, I'm sure my son will have fun playing in this, I just wish it hadn't cost nearly this much money.
